*And just like that, the storied career of Ryan Ellis in Philadelphia has come to an end. Just another common GMDB W to start off the week. [BSH]

*The Flyers closed out the preseason with a shootout win (ANOTHER ONE) over the Devils on Saturday afternoon at the Farg. RECAP!

*While the Flyers were closing things out Porter Martone and Michigan State were kicking things off and your boy scored on his FIRST EVER SHIFT. [BSH]

*And since this is the best website in the world, we’ve got a full breakdown of Martone’s debut for you. [BSH]

*With the preseason over with the opening night roster is essentially set. [NBC Sports Philly]

*In what can only be seen as an extremely fair decision given his preseason performance, Rodrigo Abols has made the team. [BSH]

*There were certainly some positives to come out of camp, like the play of Abols, but there were some negatives too. Kinda big ones. [The Athletic]

*And then there were some… questionable decisions. Should we be concerned about something like Emil Andrae being sent back to Lehigh Valley while guys that played worse remain? [BSH]

*Like Egor Zamula. Who stunk. Even Rick Tocchet couldn’t keep quiet about it. [BSH]

*Anyway back to Good Stuff: Carson Bjarnason looked real good in his Phantoms preseason debut. [BSH]

*Maybe this is the year the Flyers jump the Penguins. Maybe? [BSH]

*The season begins on Thursday down in Florida and the Flyers might get a little help from the league after a bonkers game between the Panthers and Lightning over the weekend. [Sportsnet]

*The league as a whole kicks off on Tuesday, and everyone’s got storylines for you to watch as the season gets underway. [TSN]

*Here’s nine more storylines. So many stories! [Sportsnet]

*And finally, coming back to hockey this season after taking a little break? Wysh has a primer for you. Get caught up. [ESPN]
