*We made it through the first half of Flyers After Dark™! How’d you make out? It’s easier on the weekends; this week’s games are going to be rough. Anyhoo, Game 1 of the season was a win, and we love kicking things off on a high note. RECAP!

*The hero of that game out in Vancouver? None other than everyone’s favorite toilet seat, Morgan Frost. [Inquirer]

*Saturday night’s game in Calgary was less of a high, but there were still some good things to build off of. RECAP, the second!

*One of those good things was Matvei Michkov’s first NHL point. First of quite a lot of them, we hope. [Inquirer]

*Less good was Ivan Fedotov’s mixed-bag of a debut. He wasn’t bad, per se, but he wasn’t really good either. [NBC Sports Philly]

*One thing that was a big takeaway from the Flames game is that the Flyers need to work on their finishing. There were a lot of prime scoring chances that they just totally whiffed on. [The Athletic]

*If you’re a subscriber over at Charlie’s website you can check out his thoughts on the season opener. [PHLY]

*Tomorrow night the Flyers will be in Edmonton to meet up with the Oilers and dear reader, the Oilers are a mess right now. [Sportsnet]

*And finally, DGB offers up one player from each team to watch this season in his All Intrigue Team building exercise. [The Athletic]
