*Folks, the Summer is flying by and we are just over a week away from the Official NHL Doldrums. Otherwise known as August. When everyone goes to the cottage. Anyhoo, this upcoming season is a big one for the Flyers as they’ll be welcoming a whole bunch of new faces–both to Philly and to Allentown– and the way these Kids are handled by the organization will make or break this rebuild. [BSH]
*The last big bit of news to come out with regard to the Flyers was the hiring of John Snowden as Head Coach of the Phantoms. He’s a familiar face, but should bring something new to the way the team is run. [Flyers]
*And what new things will he be bringing? Luckily for us, we have a Resident Expert to dig into these things for us. [PHLY]
*With nothing else going on it’s a great time to do a little future-planning, and here’s some in the form of speculating about what the Flyers’ depth chart might look like on defense and in net. [Inquirer]
*We here at Broad Street Hockey regret to inform you that any Gabriel Vilardi dreams you may have been having are dead in the water. [TSN]
*And finally, because the dead part of the Summer is for lists, how’s about a little jersey discourse? This is always fun with the Flyers because they have had so few wildly different jerseys over the course of their history. Anyway the best one is the 90s black. [The Athletic]
