*Yesterday the Flyers community — and the hockey world writ large, really — learned the very sad news of Bernie Parent’s passing. He was aged 80 years. He will live forever in the city of Philadelphia. [BSH]
*Bernie was, as we were all lucky enough to know, an absolute delight of a man, so it was no surprise to read the dozens and dozens of stories and tributes that followed the announcement. We should all be lucky enough to have everyone we meet remember us this fondly when we are gone. [Inquirer]
*Well, back to the Flyers, I suppose. Preseason kicked off yesterday which means camp has wrapped up, and these are the guys our old pal Chuck thinks are poised to make the Big Club, at this point. [PHLY]
