*We’re almost past all of the big events headlining the offseason, but we still have one more to get to. The 2025 World Junior Summer Showcase kicked off yesterday in Minnesota, and we get a chance to see quite a few of the Flyers’ prospects in action against some of the best players in their age group and their national team bosses begin their evaluation processes for pieces for their eventual World Junior Championship rosters. The kids are back at it! It’s fun! [BSH]

*And a little more Summer Showcase talk over on the Flyers’ more official side. [NHL]

*We have and will continue to keep it pretty Flyers-focused in our talks about the Summer Showcase over here, but if you’re bored and wanting to get even deeper sicko mode in watching this tournament, here are some top names worth keeping an eye on. [DFO]

*Speaking of offseason happenings, a pair of current Flyers have kept themselves busy, getting involved in a summer tournament for charity. [Inquirer]

*That sounds quite heavy, but it’s not all seriousness coming out of that engagement. For example: Trevor Zegras clarified what he meant when he talked about him and Jamie Drysdale peeing together (which is definitely a sentence we anticipated writing on our hockey blog). [BSH]

*In case anyone needs a reminder of The State Of Things around here for the Flyers, it’s a more zoomed out look at their offseason to date and persisting needs. [NHL]

*Things are pretty quiet around the league, but we’re still keeping an eye on some of the big names that might be on the move, if not this summer, then at some point during this next season. Nazem Kadri’s is a name that’s continuing to come up in trade talks and there seems to be no shortage of teams that might be a fit with him. [Sportsnet]

*Who doesn’t love a chance to get a little contrarian, to play the devil’s advocate? Right? Anyway, we’re talking about why having a lockout on the way to a new CBA might not have been a bad thing, actually. [The Athletic]

*If there’s one thing that’s for certain — it’s an exciting time to be Gavin McKenna. [TSN]
