*What a weekend it’s been! The Flyers eased into it by squandering a strong start and putting together a tough loss to the Sabres in the penultimate game of their road trip on Thursday. [PHLY]
*They followed that up with their next game on Saturday afternoon against the Rangers in which they… squandered a good start and came away with another tough loss, this one in the shootout. [BSH]
*A little more on the loss herein, if we want to continue to stew. [Inquirer]
*Ahead of that, the Flyers made a couple of recalls. First, they announced that they’d called up Denver Barkey from the Phantoms. [BSH]
*The move was a bit of a surprise, as Barkey is still so fresh in his professional career, but he’s been putting in some really good work with the Phantoms, and we’d be hard pressed to argue that the recall wasn’t well-deserved. [BSH]
*What’s more, Barkey certainly made a statement in his NHL debut at Madison Square Garden. [The Athletic]
*Along with all of that, the Flyers also made an emergency recall of Aleksei Kolosov, as Dan Vladar is dealing with a bit of an injury situation, as is Christian Dvorak (but worry not, they’re both looking to be short-term). [BSH]
*Okay, back to prospects: Maddie has her Phantoms report over at PHLY. [PHLY]
*And her more general prospect report over here. [BSH]
*Some less great news: Alex Bump left Friday’s game with an injury. [BSH]
*Porter Martone is looking to make some serious noise at the upcoming World Junior Championship. [DFO]
*And finally, as we turn the page to a new week, we’ll close the old one out with a recap of a few of its top performances. [BSH]
