*Finally we are through the draft and can move on from the speculating and the projecting. About prospects, anyway. Here’s what the Flyers did this weekend:
- With their first pick at 6th overall the Flyers selected Porter Martone.
- Then, Danny got a little spicy and traded up to 12 to surprise some folks by taking big center Jack Nesbitt.
- That was it for round one. With their first pick on Saturday they went defense.
- With pick number 40 they went back to the USNDTP to take another winger.
- Pick 48 was Michigan State’s Shane Vansaghi.
- At 57, they went back for another big center. Sensing a theme yet?
- Then it was quiet until pick 132, when the Flyers took a very, very young winger.
- With pick 157 they went back to defense.
- Next up at 164 Danny got back to taking centers, this one with a lot of runway.
