*It’s been a good weekend around here for the Flyers! Thursday’s game in Detroit was a rough one, but they were able to get things nicely back on track. One of the biggest things they needed to shore up was their discipline, which was a real trouble spot in that loss to the Red Wings. [BSH]
*And they were able to do that and more, as they marched themselves to a 7-1 win over the Jets to close out the road trip on Saturday. [BSH]
*It was just about as emphatic of a response as they could have dreamed of putting together, all in all. [BSH]
*Truly, there was so much to like in that win, as the Flyers seized a huge opportunity to keep their playoff push rolling. [NBCSP]
*And through all of this, Travis Konecny has been making an impression. [BSH]
*And, what’s more, he and Sean Couturier have been doing a lot to put some tired old narratives to rest. [BSH]
*Anyway, for those who haven’t kept up with the scoreboard watching over the weekend, with a big bit of help from the Bruins in taking down the Blue Jackets yesterday (and a bit more help elsewhere) the Flyers have found themselves within one win of clinching a playoff spot. [BSH]
*Dare we say, the Flyers might just be turning themselves into a team that opponents should be afraid of in the playoffs? [Inquirer]
*Around the league, everybody loves Porter Martone. [The Athletic]
*We also had a bit of news announced yesterday, with the Flyers recalling David Jiricek from the Phantoms. [BSH]
*It was a bit of a surprise move, all things considered. Maddie has a bit more on how things have been going for Jiricek in the AHL in her big monthly update on all things Phantoms. [PHLY]
*And finally, the rumor mill is turning, and the latest word on the street is that we might be seeing Yegor Zavragin signing his entry level deal before too long. [BSH]
