Monday Morning Fly By: WINNING!

Today’s open discussion thread, complete with your daily dose of Flyers news and notes…

*FRIENDS! The winning has begun! The Flyers beat the Rangers - well, some of them - but three entire goals. And it was fun! [BSH]

*The biggest standout from Saturday’s game had to be Carsen Twarynski, who was all over the ice for seemingly the entire match. [NBC Sports Philly]

*Charlie has a little more on Twarynski, along with nine other good things. [The Athletic]

*Prior to that Rangers game, Alain Vigneault surprised everyone by making some big sweeping cuts to the group of guys competing for jobs. And it let us know just how serious he is about turning this team around. [NBC Sports Philly]

*After the cuts, we are left with 36. [BSH]

*And of those 36, Meltzer breaks down which are realistically competing for a spot at this point. [Flyers]

*We got a look at some of the kids who have a real shot get some time on the top line. Would it be nuts if they actually used one of them there? Yes, probably. But also fun. [BSH]

*Despite what you heard over the summer, Kevin Hayes is very excited to be here. So far, it shows. [NBC Sports Philly]

*It seems like we don’t hear a ton about goalies having concussion problems, but evidently, it’s a pretty big problem. [ProHockeyTalk]

*And finally, the waiver wires are officially open. So, just how much talent might we expect to see available there as the season draws near? [The Athletic]
