NHL Draft 2018 open thread: What will happen on day 2 of the draft?

A largely uneventful first night of the draft came and went on Friday, as no big names were dealt and only a few minor pick swaps served to add a touch of disorder to the first round. For the Flyers, that meant making both of the picks they entered the night with, making a somewhat expected pick at No. 14 in USNTDP winger Joel Farabee before going a bit off the board in taking US high school center and Providence College commit Jay O’Brien at No. 19.

Today, we’ll see the rest of the draft, which will go by quite quickly — it’s likely that all six of today’s rounds take about as long as last night’s first round did by itself. And it could be a busy day for the Flyers, who are currently slated to have seven picks:

  • No. 50, second round
  • No. 112, fourth round
  • No. 127, fifth round (via Arizona)
  • No. 143, fifth round
  • No. 174, sixth round
  • No. 190, seventh round (via Montreal)
  • No. 205, seventh round/

Day 2 of the draft starts at 11:00 a.m. ET and will be broadcast on NHL Network (and simulcasted on NHL.com) in the US. Feel free to use this thread to talk about these picks, the draft in general, or (hopefully?) anything else exciting that happens today. Enjoy.
