When the new site launched back on April 1st (-ish), we decided to make all of the content free to let everyone see the kind of fun, entertaining, and interesting things we intend to do at the site going forward. As we close out April today, it’ll be the final day of a wide-open Broad Street Hockey. Tomorrow, May 1, the partial paywall we are implementing to keep the site ad-free will go up.
Having to pay for things sucks, I know this. I use my friend’s Netflix login. I get it. But we’d love for you to think of your subscription not as “I’m paying for this product and/or service” but as “I am supporting this community that I like being a part of.” I’m hoping you find value in the content we’re producing but more than that, I hope you find value in being a part of our weird little family. We want to grow and do all kinds of cool stuff and we need your help to do it. So if you subscribe, just know that we appreciate you. A lot. I’ll hug you if we ever meet, probably.
Anyhoo, as a refresher, these are the tiers we currently offer:
The Jay Rosehill Tier – Free
This tier is our free-to-all, entry-level content offering. As part of the Jay Rosehill you will have access to the Fly By and all Game Threads. As long as you’ve made an account on the site, you’ll be able to participate in the comments.
The Matt(Meat) Read – $5 per month or $50 per year
You get everything in the Rosehill plus Previews, Recaps, all breaking news, and the weekly Prospect Report.
The Eric Lindros – $10 per month or $100 per year
The Jay Rosehill, the Meat Read, plus all other articles including in-depth analysis, player access, prospect deep-dives, Everything Is Sports, & a weekly newsletter. The newsletter will not just be a “hey here are some articles we wrote this week” kind of thing. Written by one of the BSH writers, the newsletter will be more of a free-form, conversational piece. I think you’ll like it, it’s going to be really fun.
The Andrew MacDonald – $50 per month or $500 per year
You get exactly what is in the Lindros tier but you’re paying way, way too much for it. Everyone thinks you are big dumb for paying that much for this content. But like Andrew MacDonald, if you want to overpay us, we aren’t going to stop you.
