There’s always a slight chance it’s a doctored image, but a social media post this afternoon might fan some flames leading to tomorrow night’s Game 4 against the Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins.
A 14-second clip was posted this afternoon, showing a woman wearing a Travis Sanheim jersey approaching a vehicle with Flyers winger Owen Tippett in the driver’s seat. It apparently took place after Game 3 at Xfinity Mobile Arena, with the player leaving in his vehicle to head home. The woman waits as Tippett slows down to greet the fan, rolling down his window to say hello. Although the audio isn’t crystal clear, and someone else is holding the phone recording the interaction, the woman appears to ask Tippett to autograph the puck and add “Crosby sucks” on it as well. Tippett and his passenger laugh at the request with the female passenger clapping. The Flyer takes the puck and does just that, autographing it while putting the Crosby barb on it as well and obliging the happy fan.
A fan asked Owen Tippett to sign a puck and write “Crosby Sucks” after Game 3, and he did it😂 pic.twitter.com/Ab3NgsjFAf

The clip concludes with Tippett returning the marker or Sharpie back to the fan, with a split second photo of the puck with “Crosby sucks” written above and what looks to be Tippett’s autograph beneath it. However a photo of the puck is also shown in the same social media thread.

It seems like something that would be a huge no-no during any playoff series, especially after the Flyers defeated the Penguins 5-2 to take a 3-0 lead in the series. You don’t want to give the opponent, especially a future Hall of Famer and the team’s captain, any bulletin board material to get ready for Game 4. However, Tippett and the Flyers don’t seem to care whose proverbial boats they rock. The fact few if any gave them a chance to make the playoffs makes it all the sweeter. And that hardly anyone thought the Flyers would be on the cusp of eliminating Pittsburgh heading into Game 4 would be lunacy.
Crosby, who is still looking for his first goal of the series, didn’t address the Tippett autograph incident, but did have time to once again address his embellishment penalty on Friday afternoon.
For the record, Hathaway was asked about the play after Game 3, and he responded, "No comment." https://t.co/Kv397BQByO

Whether or not this autograph from Tippett will piss Crosby off more, nobody knows. And at this point, nobody really cares, at least in Philadelphia.
