No. 2: Tyson Foerster
We’re nearing the end of our Top 25 Under 25 rankings, and before we reveal our number one selection (you get one guess who it is), we have to cover number two: Tyson Foerster.
On the heels of an impressive debut at the tail end of the 2022-23 season (3 goals, 7 points in 8 games), Foerster was viewed as a lock to make the team out of training camp–and while he did make the team, he didn’t have the head-turning camp we expected. Because of that, Foerster and Bobby Brink (who had a stellar camp) entered a rotation to start the season. By April, though, Foerster held a permanent roster spot by a pretty comfortable margin.

How did Foerster’s 2023-24 season go? Is his stock trending up or down from where it was entering the year?
It was a great season for Foerster: aside from hitting 20 goals, he finished seventh in Calder voting and–more impressively–received a few Selke nods. As a rookie winger. That’s a pretty rare feat, and speaks to the kind of player that he hopefully becomes down the line. Let’s save the projections for later in the article, though.
