Checking out the competition: LA Kings
Going for two on the left coast.
After a big, overdue, much-needed win in Anaheim Thursday, the Flyers are back at it again after dark in Los Angeles to take on the flailing Kings. The Kings have started the year in much of the same way the Flyers have with underperforming stars, unreliable goaltending, and calls for the coaches head. Flyers West indeed! Ahead of the game, we spoke with Sarah Avampato of Jewels from the Crown to get an idea of what we should expect from this matchup of two teams who need to get their game together. Topics include:
- How the Ilya Kovalchuk experiment is going thus far
- Johnathan Quick’s injury issues and general overall inconsistency
- John Stevens’s future in Los Angeles
- Jeff Carter’s slow starts
- Travis Konecny’s league-wide popularity/
Tonight’s game doesn’t kick off until 1030PM, which is just horrifyingly late. Time zones are so stupid. Here’s hoping the Flyers can string a couple of wins together. Get it boys!
