John Tortorella is pressing all the right buttons for Flyers forwards

The Philadelphia Flyers may have finally figured it out. Sure, they’re still getting some up-and-down results but the process has improved and things are a lot visually better on the ice.

Over the last 10 games, the Flyers have the second-best expected goals share in the league at 58.68%. It’s an even better 59.79% when adjusted for the score and venue per Natural Stat Trick.

It’s no coincidence that it was 10 games ago on Nov. 25 that Tortorella put together four lines that are rolling.

We had seen some combinations of them before, including the fourth line for some time, but they’ve been clicking at an impressive rate over the last two weeks.

Two months ago we wanted to get off Mr. Tortorella’s Wild Line Blender. Last month we urged for John Tortorella to give Matvei Michkov better linemates and shake up the middle six. But there’s not much to complain about right now when it comes to how the Flyers’ forward lines are composed.
