*On Monday night against the San Jose Sharks, the Flyers almost lost the plot but that’s a later thing. To start the game, defenseman Erik Johnson, in his 998th career NHL game and his first game after being out for a good stretch of time, scored a goal within the first couple of minute and then seconds later, dropped the gloves after someone was trying to mess with Matvei Michkov. A real fun couple of minutes. [BSH]

*Speaking of that 4-3 shootout win against San Jose, we got the recap all for you here in case you missed it. And, with a couple key takeaways. [BSH]

*Cam York appears to be almost ready to return to action — could possibly be back in the lineup on Thursday against the Ottawa Senators — so now decision time is looming for what the Flyers should do with Emil Andrae. The young defenseman has looked more than the part and has possibly been the team’s best blueliner in York’s absence, but the numbers and waiver exemption might play a part. [PHLY]

*Award hype season is already starting and one Flyer in particular is towards the top of the Calder race (oh boy, I wonder who). ESPN put out their recent “NHL Awards Watch” going trophy-by-trophy to see who should be told they did great this year. [ESPN]

*It’s also Hockey Hall of Fame Week and the 2024 class is one for the history books, but what about 2025? There are some big names who could make it. [Daily Faceoff]
