It’s been a little over two years since Chuck Fletcher was fired and Danny Briere was elevated to the role of General Manager–at least in an interim capacity. Right from the jump, he acknowledged that getting the Flyers back to contention was going to be a multi-year process, and wasn’t afraid to say the word “rebuild.” It was the dawn of the New Era of Orange, and the Philadelphia Flyers were finally going to do the right thing and put in the time, patience, and work to get the team on the path to being a perennial Stanley Cup contender.
So, of course, we had to make some predictions.
In March of 2023, I wrote a two-part article where part one outlined the rebuilds of three other teams (the New Jersey Devils, Ottawa Senators, and Detroit Red Wings), and part two focused on the timeline the Flyers might take, along with some of my outlandish draft possibilities and a shot-in-the-dark roster for the 2028-29 season.
