Sean Couturier injured, will not return to Game 1 vs. Capitals with apparent arm injury

Sean Couturier left the second period of Game 1 between the Flyers and Capitals with what appeared to be a left arm injury. The Flyers announced that he will not return to the game and that he will be reevaluated on Friday.

He was hit by Alex Ovechkin along the boards, came up holding his shoulder, and went directly to the locker room.

We’ll update when we hear more on Couturier’s status, but it doesn’t look good. He’s a key piece in this series, both on the penalty kill and in combating the Capitals’ deadly top two lines at even strength. If he’s out, the Flyers are in big trouble.
