Slap Shots: Rookie Game

The Philadelphia Flyers were finally back in action in 2019. Well, sort of. The prospects suited up at the PPL Center in Allentown for the annual rookie game against the New York Islanders.

Flyers future stars got to showcase their talents in front of the fans that they’d likely be playing in front of all season with the Phantoms. Felix Sandstrom got the start in net and played well in his half game of play, making 23 saves on 24 shots.

German Rubtsov paced the offense with two goals on the night, David Kase added some insurance, while camp invitee Sean Comrie added a goal of his own. The Flyers would eventually tie the game late in the third and lose in a shootout, 5-4. Training Camp kicks off Friday morning back at the Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ.
