*The Habs are in town tonight for the first meeting of Lane Hutson and Matvei Michkov. Nine games to go, folks. Before tonight’s game, in case you missed the last one, here’s Chuck’s thoughts. [PHLY]
*Important to remember, in these dark days, as you slog your way through another 60 minutes of Flyers hockey, that losing is actually good. Really good, right now. [Inquirer]
*After Tuesday’s game against the Leafs, we got a real John Tortorella experience, complete with the “this is all my fault” thing he loves to do from time to time. [The Athletic]
*Lately, as the losses pile up and most of the team looks like crap, Torts’ schtick is wearing thin. The same buttons he always presses are being pressed, but they aren’t working anymore. *Anyhoo, yesterday was a big day for Flyers news! First up, the org signed 5th round pick Ty Murchison to a two-year ELC. [BSH]
*Then we got confirmation that somewhat-highly-touted prospect Alex Ciernik will in fact be joining the Phantoms. [BSH]
*Speaking of the Phantoms, Nikita Grebenkin, who will NOT be getting a call up to the Flyers this year, because for some reason we needed Aleksei Kolosov back up here, seems to have fixed the power play woes up there in Allentown. [BSH]
*The Flyers remain loaded with first round picks — one of which keeps getting higher by the day — so perhaps this ranking of this year’s draft prospects will be relevant to your interests. [Sportsnet]
*And finally, we’ve been hearing a lot about Alex Bump lately. So we watched every one of his shifts in a game to see what’s up. [BSH]
