*Since he got his contract extension signed, it’s been all Trevor Zegras talk all over the place. Understandably, of course, as he’s a huge contributor to this team and it’s great to see him locked down with some term, and to have all of that done with basically zero drama. Which is, to say the least, a change of pace from his previous contract negotiations. [BSH]

*There’s been a lot of maturing in his game that we’ve seen already, and it’s been a real treat to watch the player and role he’s growing into. [NBCSP]

*Of course, given the history and familiarity, he also had some thoughts on the Leo Carlsson offer sheet situation. [BSH]

*In other news, and speaking of contract extensions, the Phantoms had another one of their own to announce, as they’ve now officially got their captain in Garrett Wilson sticking around for another year. [BSH]

*We may still fully be in July here, but why not get into a very early projection of the Flyers’ lineup and overall depth situation. [The Athletic]

*Getting back to the lead-up to our Top 25 Under 25 ranking, let’s take a step back and check in with all of the players who have graduated, for one reason or another, from the ballot. [BSH]

*In a lot of ways, draft punditry is an inexact science. And that’s okay! We work with the information that we have, and we do our best, but no one is right all the time, and I can appreciate when folks can own the times that they were wrong. Anyway, for the sake of transparency, Scott Wheeler over at the Athletic takes us through some notable prospects that he was wrong about. [The Athletic]

*The Stars got their star in Jason Robertson signed to a one-year extension earlier this week, but despite what that might suggest about where the player and team are at, they’re still working towards getting something long-term worked out before too long. [Sportsnet]
