Thursday Morning Fly By: Wow, goals!

Today’s open discussion thread, complete with your daily dose of Philadelphia Flyers news and notes…

*The Flyers gave Travis Konecny a nice little birthday present by remembering how to score goals and win the game. RECAP!

*Big news yesterday was the Flyers signing one of their college kids, Noah Powell, to his entry-level contract. Good for you, kid. [BSH]

*You may not have known this, but Powell is hearing impaired, which makes his success in hockey thus far pretty dang impressive. [Inquirer]

*Powell was a 5th round pick, so manage expectations, but he aims to be a pain in the ass to play against, so that’s fun. [NBC Sports Philly]

*If you’re still hoping that the Flyers might sneak into the playoffs, please allow ESPN (And math. Mostly math) relieve you of this burden. [ESPN]

*Quite a few of this year’s first round picks have already changed hands. Because nothing is more beloved than a ranked list, DGB went about the business of ranking who regrets moving their pick most. [The Athletic]

*And finally, because everything is sports, we wrote about the new Game of Thrones spin-off series, which absolutely rules. We hope you enjoy. [BSH]
