Today’s open discussion thread, complete with your daily dose of Philadelphia Flyers news and notes…

*Blissfully, we have only two games between us and the Olympic break and the first of those is tonight against the Capitals. Another opportunity to get two points on a Division rival. Hopefully the boys enjoyed the heck out of Sunday’s Flyers Charities Carnival and will hit the ice refreshed and ready to go. It was a fun day. [Inquirer]

*Anyway so Rick Tocchet seems to be a big topic of conversation this week. For obvious reasons. But we probably shouldn’t be surprised that this is the way things are going. [BSH]

*A few weeks ago we were all thinking playoffs, today we are thinking about who the Flyers should be targeting with their first pick in this summer’s draft. It do be like that some years, huh? [BSH]

*During the aforementioned Olympic break we will be free from the torment of the Flyers and will be able to enjoy a true best-on-best tournament for the first time in a long time. [Sportsnet]

*So we’re calling it “best-on-best” and it mostly is, but there are more that a few notable “snubs” on some of these Olympic rosters. If you’ve been wondering how a guy like Cole Caufield feels about this, we you’re in luck! [ESPN]

*And finally, sure the Flyers have been a rolling wagon of hot garbage over the last couple of weeks, but that didn’t stop Travis Konecny from being impressive enough to be named one of the league’s 3 Stars this week. [TSN]
