*The Flyers fought back from a three-goal deficit to nearly take the Avs to overtime last night but couldn’t quite get there. They made it fun at the end, though! RECAP!

*Scary moment early in the game, when Avs forward Josh Manson collided with referee Mitch Dunning as he skated into the Flyers’ zone. It was a very hard hit, but as of now it appears that Dunning is doing relatively well in the hospital. [The Athletic]

*So in case you missed it, Sam Ersson was officially placed on the IR in order to make room for Helge Grans to come up. That means we won’t see Sam ’til at least Saturday. [NBC Sports Philly]

*Have you been wondering why John Tortorella is wearing the same hoodie every game? Well, it’s because he respects the hockey gods, that’s why. [Inquirer]

*Sometimes it takes looking super closely at something very small to see the potential for a very solid hockey team. [PhillyVoice]

*Every goalie contract seems like a giant gamble, don’t you think? Short ones, long ones… it’s hard to know how these guys are going to play from game to game let alone year to year. Which means figuring out what kind of contract to offer your goaltender is a real conundrum for NHL GMs. [ESPN]
