Today’s open discussion thread, complete with your daily dose of Philadelphia Flyers news and notes…

*Folks, the Flyers are on their way home from Pittsburgh up 2 games to none on the Pittsburgh Penguins. They shut them out last night. This is so much fun! Are you having fun?? RECAP!

*Ahead of last night’s game we learned that the Flyers elected to bring up a couple more Black Aces for this run, however long this run may be. [BSH]

*Despite the win there was a lot to learn from Game 1, and the Flyers really didn’t seem to learn too much but they won anyway! Wild stuff! [BSH]

*There is always room for improvement, of course. Chuck identified some specific places the Flyers might want to pick it up a little bit if they want to continue to dominate this series. [PHLY]

*The biggest glaringest worstest aspect of the Flyers’ game this far in this series is the one we all knew it’d be: that dang power play. [BSH]

*Obviously everyone is still talking Porter Martone. It’s all Porty Marts all the time ’round these parts. “These parts” being the various publications that employ folks that write about the Flyers. Anyway Porter Martone rules. [Inquirer]

*Martone is definitely meeting the moment, that’s for sure. And he’s getting by with a little help from his friends, turns out. [The Athletic]

*Travis Sanheim spent most of Game 1 giving Sidney Crosby absolute fits. We would like him to continue to do this in perpetuity. [BSH]

*And finally… a ranked list! Everyone loves a ranked list! Like this one, ranking the best 50 players in this year’s playoffs. [ESPN]
