*Now the the last game of the NHL season was one whole entire day ago, it is safe to say that the offseason has officially begun. Which means Things are going to start happening, and one of the first things that happens each offseason is the buyout window opening. In case you didn’t know, 48 hours after the last game finishes, the window opens. Here’s a few guys the Flyers could buyout, if they really wanted to. [BSH]

*One of the things that is cool about the Carolina Hurricanes winning the Cup this year is that NHL front offices have zero creativity and love to copy what works, and the Canes are not constructed in the “traditional” way. Which means that, perhaps, someone will be creative. Here’s three things the Hurricanes can teach the Flyers that they should not ignore. [BSH]

*With the offseason in full swing, like we said up there, here are some bold predictions for what NHL teams might do this summer. [Sportsnet]

*The draft is just a little over a week away, which means we all still have a little over a week of draft coverage and speculation to work our way through. If you’re a subscriber over at Charlie’s website, you can check out his thoughts on who the Flyers might take with the 21st overall pick. [PHLY]

*Perhaps it’ll be this sturdy winger, currently playing for the Peterborough Petes up in the OHL. [NBC Sports Philly]

*Or perhaps the kid that you all have chosen for 23rd overall on your BSH Community Draft Board? He’s technically a center, so he’s got that going for him. [BSH]

*There are also trades to be made, maybe, and with Danny Briere seemingly loving a project, maybe one of these change-of-scenery candidates might strike his fancy. [Sportsnet]

*And finally, what happens when the jocks and the nerds learn to work together? Beautiful things, that’s what. [ESPN]
