Tuesday Morning Fly By: What’s next?

Today’s open discussion thread, complete with your daily dose of Philadelphia Flyers news and notes.

*The Philadelphia Flyers’ Development Camp is all done and over with, and all the prospects will be heading to the summer training to then determine where they’re all playing in the fall, but overall, during the stint in Voorhees, who stood out the most? We have our top-five prospects from Development Camp here: [BSH]

*Alex Ciernik was a prospect at dev camp and had one of the more interesting seasons last year. Two concussions derailed his post-Draft season and really stopped a whole lot of his development. Now, he’s looking to get back on track. [BSH]

*Another prospect that really stood out was Oliver Bonk. And he is really leaving with a strong impression on every Flyers coach. Could we see him in the NHL as soon as the 2025-26 season? By the way these guys are talking about him, maybe. [NBC Sports]

*Moving on from Development Camp chat, Travis Konecny is still here in Philadelphia but does not have a contract extension like we all thought he would by now. Does that mean talks have stalled? Or, maybe as we point out here, the recent contract signings across the league with similarly talented players, doesn’t really bode well for the Flyers’ top winger. [BSH]

*A really sad day. Tony Voce, a former Philadelphia Phantom and hometown player — a rarity to have a player from specifically Philadelphia — passed away on Monday. He played 181 games for the AHL Phantoms. [SI]

*Three non-playoff teams from last season that could make a jump into the postseason, and these playoff teams could miss. This upcoming 2024-25 season feels like a transition from the existing powers of the NHL to the new, young studs. [Daily Faceoff]

*Fourteen players who are restricted free agents, have elected to head to arbitration to find a new contract for next season. Among those, are some really interesting cases. [Sportsnet]
