Wednesday Morning Fly By: A notable absence

© Ed Mulholland-USA TODAY Sports

*We’ll kick things off with the small bit of news from yesterday, which is the training camp roster and schedule release. [BSH]

*The bigger news of the day, of course, was that Danny Briere met with the media to talk all thing rookie and training camp, and more precisely, finally offer some clarity on what the heck is going on with Alexei Kolosov. [BSH]

*The short version is that, ostensibly, Kolosov was hoping to be more or less guaranteed a spot on the NHL roster, something the Flyers weren’t willing or frankly able to do after re-signing Ivan Fedotov. So, we wonder, if this is the case, is Kolosov right to be peeved about this? [BSH]

*There’s some of this situation that’s outside of the Flyers’ control, but man… this just cannot keep happening. [PHLY]

*Another update from that availability: Ryan Johansen’s contract has indeed been terminated, and the ball is in his camp’s court, it’s up to them whether they wish to file a grievance. [TSN]

*Also covered: everybody who had surgery towards the end of the season or in the offseason is good to go for camp. [Inquirer]

*The Hunter McDonald hype is spreading. [Inquirer]

*We’ve got a brand new BSH Podcast episode! And it’s a Flyperbole crossover special! [BSH]

*For those grieving the loss of the Phillies’ Dollar Dog Nights, the Flyers have you covered. [NBC 10]

*Nick Seeler is relishing it all, with the stability his new contract extension has offered, after nearly quitting hockey for good. [NHL]

*Get ready, prospect sickos: the World Junior schedule is here already. [NHL]
