Today’s open discussion thread, complete with your daily dose of Philadelphia Flyers news and notes.

*What’s with this weird break? Last game was Saturday, next game not until tomorrow. That’s like… several days. Anyhoo, Rick Tocchet is using this pocket of time off from game action to address several Problems that have developed with his team over the course of this season. [Inquirer]

*One of those big glaring problems is the Flyers’ inability to start a game when the game starts. Waiting ’til the ten minute mark or the second period or whatever doesn’t seem to be a good strategy. [BSH]

*While we are talking about problems, how’s about Sam Ersson, huh? [BSH]

*Adam Ginning is headed up to Allentown to hang out with the Phantoms for a conditioning stint. [BSH]

*While we are talking about the Phantoms, while Alex Bump is playing pretty well with the team right now, thoughts of calling him up to the Big Club are probably a little on the premature side. For now. [BSH]

*And finally, apparently The Travii are big fans of Porter Martone, who has been absolutely tearing it up for Michigan State this year. Hockey players: they’re just like us! [NBC Sports Philly]
