2023-24 Player Review: The low-end reinforcements

The Philadelphia Flyers’ season is over and now we can look back on all 82 games with a sort of pondering reflection and determine if certain players actually had successful seasons or not. Some players grew into regular contributors and could be on the Next Great Flyers team, while others could be shown the door and have just played ever so briefly in the Orange and Black.

As we comb through any player that actually played an NHL game for the Flyers during the 2023-24 season, we need to just scrape off the very bottom of the roster to, honestly, get those out of the way.

These players were brought in on short-term deals, two-way deals, or have just existed as pure AHL depth for a while now and because of injuries, got to actually play in the big leagues. There’s nothing really else to say, so, well, let’s get at it.

Victor Mete

Ah, Victor Mete. Some of us (like the one single person writing this blog) were a little more excited about the left-handed defenseman being added to the team last summer than what was actually warranted. This guy was an exciting player for roughly half of an NHL season during his younger years in Montreal, and that just stuck to some of our brains like glue.
