It’s the time of year again, friends! Mark your calendars and come out to join us for the third annual Broad Street Hockey Festivus watch party! Come join your fellow Flyers fans to watch the Flyers get revenge on the Ottawa Senators; it’s sure to be a great game to watch together. This party has been a fantastic event every year but this year will be even better!
The first 50 people through the doors will receive a Broad Street Hockey t-shirt!
The next 50 people will get a free drink from SB Nation! You must be 21+ to attend this party.
Everyone will have the opportunity to snack on some complimentary small bites. The menu includes Philly staples like cheesesteaks and soft pretzel bits as well as wings and a veggie option. We will have selfie stations, and stickers, and of course the traditional Airing of Grievances to be recorded and published on our podcast feed.
We will also be joined by Kim Parent and Jodi Smith from Biscuit Tees along with tons of merchandise you can purchase for your loved ones or yourself!
The 2019 BSH Festivus Extravaganza!
WHERE: Fieldhouse, 1150 Filbert Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107 (You’ll find us in the private room on the second floor, GO UPSTAIRS)
WHEN: Saturday, December 21 at 6PM; Flyers vs. Senators begins at 7PM
We will also be holding a canned food drive and holding a raffle for a pair of lower bowl tickets for the Flyers vs. Capitals game on January 8, 2020. Tickets for the raffle will 1 for $2, 3 for $5, 10 for $10. We will accept cash and Venmo at the event. If you bring a canned good you will receive 1 raffle ticket per item.
This year our charity is The Attic Youth Center, all of the money collected from the raffle as well as canned goods will be donated to them.
The Attic Youth Center is the only organization in Philadelphia exclusively serving lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth.
The Attic’s goal is to reduce the isolation felt by LGBTQ youth by providing a sense of community and developing programs and services to counteract the prejudice and oppression that LGBTQ youth often face.
All Attic programming is based on a youth development model and aims to build community, reduce isolation, combat homophobia, promote knowledge and life skills, and develop future leaders
Hockey does not have a reputation of being inclusive, especially in the current climate. While we believe things are changing, for the better, we are literally putting our money where our mouth is when we say Broad Street Hockey is for everyone, even if hockey isn’t. If you are unable to attend the event but would like to make a difference for LGBTQ youth, you can donate here, we have partnered with Outsports and will be working closely with both organizations throughout the season.
So come out, get some freebies, watch some hockey, air some grievances, and enjoy the holidays with the best bunch of fans in the world!
