The 1-0 win was the Flyers’ first by that score since February 2018, and Philly’s first in regulation since defeating the Florida Panthers by the slimmest of margins on October 12, 2015. Michal Neuvirth earned the win in his first start as a Flyer that night, following a relief appearance in the first half of this home-and-home with the Cats two nights prior that saw Steve Mason surrender four goals in the first seven minutes before giving way to Neuvy in an eventual 7-1 loss. Sam Gagner picked up the primary assist on the orange and black’s lone goal in the 1-0 victory, netted by Brayden Schenn.
I looked all this up during the third period to keep myself awake because it was an incredibly boring game. Oskar Lindblom scored 1:40 into the contest and that was it. It was the Stolie show from there.
Despite only getting 19 pucks on net, the Flyers were good enough to pick up their fifth straight victory, and sixth win in their last seven.
