The news of the week Not too much to report this week. A little surprisingly, no one\'s been assigned from the NHL to AHL just yet, but we do have one someone who\'s been assigned from the AHL to ECHL. Mason Millman has been sent back down to join the Royals, helping to clear up the bit of a logjam that Phantoms have at defense. What\'s up with the Phantoms? Speaking of the Phantoms, they finally got their regular season underway over the weekend, and it was... a strange start. We broke it down in a bit more detail yesterday, so we\'ll stick with the abbreviated version here. The Phantoms put together a pretty disorganized showing on Saturday, and ended up losing by a 5-2 margin, but responded well for Sunday\'s game and managed to win that one by a 5-2 score. How\'s that for continuity? The even more exciting bit of news that we get to recap is that a couple of first AHL goals were scored this weekend. A positive from the Saturday loss, Samu Tuomaala was able to capitalize on a nice chance on the power play to nab his first goal in the league. https://twitter.com/LVPhantoms/status/1713371957519859915?s=20 And on Sunday, after the Phantoms fell into a two-goal hole early in the first period, Alexis Gendron stepped up and scored the response goal inside the next minute of play, flexing some speed and puck handling prowess in the process. https://twitter.com/LVPhantoms/status/1713608584280314343?s=20 And in other news, this was not his first goal in the AHL, but the offensive game is continuing to develop for Adam Ginning on the smaller ice. In Sunday\'s win, he took the puck in all on his own and beat the Belleville goalie one on one for the Phantom\'s second shorthanded goal of the afternoon. https://twitter.com/LVPhantoms/status/1713622061040521410?s=20 The prospect world tour It\'s not just the prospect world tour, folks, we\'ve moved into \"check in with every prospect with a last name starting with the letter B\" time. First up, it\'s Alex Bump! He\'s off to a decent start to his college career with Western Michigan. In his first two games played, he has two assists, and while the goals aren\'t piling up for him yet, he did also have eight shots on goal in those first two games. He\'s getting a good volume of chances, and it\'s only a matter of time before he starts converting on them. Up in London, the Knights duo of Denver Barkey and Alex Bump continue to give Flyers fans a whole lot to be excited about. Barkey, for starters, remains on a bit of a tear to say the least. In his last three games played, he\'s put up a total of five goals and two assists, and eight shots on goal on top of that. The scoring is coming in droves for him, and this has propelled him comfortably into the lead in points scored on his team, and into second in the whole of the OHL. https://twitter.com/LondonKnights/status/1712970178319765767?s=20 And while he hasn\'t been pouring out the offense at the same rate, things continue to click well for Oliver Bonk — he\'s got three assists in his last three games played, bringing him to six points on the season, and moving him into fourth in scoring on the team. Things are also going well for a pair of Flyers prospects playing out in Western Canada. Carter Sotheran in the WHL is continuing to find a nice little bit of production this season, and he tacked on a goal and three shots on goal to his season output in the last two games. And Ryan MacPhereson is also continuing to contribute well for his Penticiton Vees team down in the BCHL — he put up a goal and two assists in his last two games played, bringing him up to 13 points in his first 11 games played. That\'s good for first in team scoring (and two points ahead of his twin brother Connor, which might be the most important accomplishment). And finally, the report on the pair of Flyers prospects playing in the KHL is also positive. Alexei Kolosov is still getting a whole lot of playing time (though he did get one of Minsk\'s last three games off) and is still showing well for his team. In those last two games played, he made 19 saves on 22 shots faced in one, and put up a 21 save shutout in the other. It was a relatively quiet week for Matvei Michkov, as he only got in for one game after dealing with an illness earlier in it, but that one game he did get in for, he found a way to be impactful in it. He put up a power play goal and six individual shots on goal, hitting the ground running well, and it\'s starting to look like nothing can slow him down.
