BSH Radio reacts following 2-1 victory in Colorado

Show of hands, how many of you joked about Michal Neuvirth not making it through his first game back from injury? How many of you had him lasting less than half the game? Neuvirth, in his first action since allowing three goals in the first period to the New York Rangers and succumbing to a lower-body injury on February 16th, played just 28:07 in his return before leaving before the midway point of the second period, giving way to Petr Mrazek. Mrazek stopped all 17 shots in relief on Wednesday night at the Pepsi Center.

The Colorado Avalanche pinned the Philadelphia Flyers for much of the third period, but were unable to deposit any of the 12 shots they got on net, allowing Philadelphia to come away with two points, extending the team’s point streak to seven games.

Ivan Provorov played nearly 28 minutes, scored a goal, recorded an assist and blocked five shots for one of the best efforts of his career. Shayne Gostisbehere and Jordan Weal also blocked five shots apiece, and Andrew MacDonald recorded seven of the team’s 33 blocks en route to rounding out their three game road trip with a victory.

Although Philly finally ended a game on the right side of regulation, the Facebook Live postgame video chat went overtime, discussing the game, playoff push and the future of the franchise. Give it a watch and listen for all of Bill’s takes.
