Did they blow two points or steal one?

If, in the same game, the Philadelphia Flyers both played like trash and were lucky to come away with a point, and also blew 2-0 and 3-2 leads in the third period, can we just say the game never happened?

Unfortunately, we won’t get the time back, and the Flyers record now reads 3-1-1 for the season.

James van Riemsdyk notched a pair of tallies, Claude Giroux netted his first of the year, and Travis Sanheim scored as well, with strong efforts from Jake Voracek and Kevin Hayes to round out the thatta-boys on the night. But the team’s overall play was once again not up to expectation, being outshot 43-26 en route to a 5-4 shootout loss.

Philly gave up a goal on the penalty kill, got dominated in the faceoff circle (Boston won 63% of draws), were far too easy on the puck and turned it over in their own zone at a rate that would make Brandon Manning turn to Bruno Gervais and go, “what the f—- are they doing out there?”

So we got into it a little on postgame and decided while this game wasn’t all that much fun to watch unfold, it is nowhere near time to panic.

They should could use another defenseman, though…

Anyway, listen to the podcast. It’s short. Then buy something from a sponsor. Thanks.
