How to watch Flyers vs. Capitals Game 1 online, TV coverage, game time and more

After 715 days, it’s finally a playoff hockey game day for the Philadelphia Flyers. They’re down in Washington, D.C. to take on the league-best Washington Capitals in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference First Round on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET.

Playoff hockey can get confusing with television coverage. All games are on national television in both the United States and Canada, but local broadcasters still broadcast the first round as well. So we’ll make this short and easy to understand for you when you’re trying to watch:

If you are in the Philadelphia market: tonight’s game, and every game in this series aside from Game 6, is on CSN Philly. You’ll get Jim Jackson and Bill Clement on the broadcast, and it will be wonderful. The national broadcast on NBCSN will be blacked out. Radio coverage can be found on 97.5 The Fanatic or on 97.3 FM at the South Jersey Shore.

If you are in the Washington market: tonight’s game, and every game in this series aside from Game 6, is on CSN Washington. You’ll get the Capitals broadcasters, Joe Beninati and Craig Laughlin. Sorry in advance. The national broadcast on NBCSN will be blacked out. The local radio broadcast is on 106.7 FM The Fan.

If you are anywhere else in the United States: tonight’s game is on NBCSN. We’re hearing that NBC is actually just using the Jackson + Clement broadcast nationally, so this is great news for Flyers fans around the country. (And maybe not so great news for Caps fans…)

If you are in Canada: tonight’s game is on CBC in English and TVA Sports in French.

Now, if you want to watch online, you can indeed do that through NBC’s Live Extra app, or the NBC Sports website. The good news is that this won’t be blacked out even in the local markets, so if you’re in the D.C. area and want to avoid the Capitals broadcast, you can watch the NBCSN broadcast — which again, will feature the Flyers announcers — online.

NHL.tv and NHL Center Ice do not work in the postseason. The radio feeds can be found free via the NHL app or the NHL website, however. SiriusXM will also have radio coverage of the game on Channel 91.
