Elliotte Friedman first reported that the Philadelphia Flyers have claimed Johnny Oduya off of waivers, and that the Colorado Avalanche have claimed Mark Alt. The Flyers then confirmed both moves themselves.

Oduya, 36, has played 51 games for the Ottawa Senators this season, scoring four goals and assisting on four others. He has posted a 48.89 5-on-5 CF%, +1.40% relative, and had been averaging just over 17 minutes a night while playing for Ottawa.
Alt, 26, has been sitting in the press box as the Flyers’ 7th defenseman for a while now, and has only played 31 games this season, 8 in the NHL. Alt was having his best season in the AHL offensively, but was unable to translate that into any points at the NHL level.
