2017 1st Round Pick, 27th overall
- 2/19 – 2 assists, 3 shots, 12 for 21 FOW
- 2/21 – 2 goals, 1 assist, 4 shots, 16 for 32 FOW
- 2/22 – 2 assists, 4 shots, 2 PIM, 12 for 28 FOW
- 2/24 – 1 goal, 2 assists, 4 shots, 9 for 30 FOW/
Is 103 points (37 G, 66 A) in 52 games good? I’ve tried googling it. Frost’s point total and 1.98 point-per-game pace leads the OHL. He’s going to be fun to keep an eye on as a pro.
Isaac Ratcliffe (LW), Guelph Storm (OHL)
2017 2nd Round Pick, 35th overall
And just like that, Ratcliffe reaches a new career-high in goals with 43 in 55 games. He had 41 in 67 in 2017-18 and also tied his career-high in points (68). Ratcliffe has had 11 multi-goal games this season.
Matthew Strome (LW), Hamilton Bulldogs (OHL)
2017 4th Round Pick, 106th overall
- 2/22 – 4 shots, 2 PIM, 16 for 33 FOW
- 2/23 – 2 assists, 4 shots, 10 for 19 FOW
- 2/24 – 5 shots, 4 PIM, 2 for 6 FOW/
At 61 games into the season, Strome has 27 goals and 47 assists. The 1.21 point-per-game is a career-high, along with his assist-total. Strome has interestingly become a more complete offensive player in his fourth OHL season.
Maksim Sushko (RW), Owen Sound Attack (OHL)
2017 4th Round Pick, 107th overall
No games for the Belarusian, who was out this week with the flu.
Wyatte Wylie (D), Everett Silvertips (WHL)
2018 5th Round Pick, 127th overall
Wylie breaks out of his four-game mini-slump with a solid week. The 19 year old has 43 points (10 G, 33 A) in 60 games.
Egor Zamula (D), Calgary Hitmen (WHL)
Undrafted Free Agent
Zamula continues to exceed all expectations since being signed by the Flyers. The third year WHLer has put up 48 points (10 G, 38 A) in 53 games this season. Both goal and assist totals are career-highs. His 48 points ranked 7th among WHL defensemen this season.
Notable European performers this week
Linus Högberg (D), Växjö Lakers HC (SHL)
2016 5th Round Pick, 139th overall
Högberg getting solid 2nd pairing minutes for Växjö this season and I have to say that’s pretty exciting. He’s putting up solid possession numbers to boot. The buzz should probably be a bit higher than it is right now. His assist was his 6th this season and his 8th point overall through 44 games.
David Bernhardt (D), Växjö Lakers HC (SHL)
2016 7th Round Pick, 199th overall
Wow, nothing like being healthy and getting a new start, eh? Bernhardt has two goals and two assists in 12 games since being traded.
Adam Ginning (D), Linköping HC (SHL)
2018 2nd Round Pick, 50th overall
Ginning doing his usual 2nd pairing thing, but wound up taking a five minute major and a game misconduct on Saturday.
Olle Lycksell (RW/C), Linköping HC (SHL)
2017 6th Round Pick, 168th overall
No points once again for Lycksell who remains at nine points (2 G, 7 A) in 44 games.
Marcus Westfält (C), Karlskrona HK (Allsvenskan)
2018 7th Round Pick, 205th overall
As noted last week, nothing to note with Westfalt. He has just one assist in 15 games with Karlskrona since being sent down to Allsvendskan.
Felix Sandström (G), HV71 (SHL)
2015 3rd Round Pick, 70th overall
- 2/21 – 2 GA, 16 saves/
Sandstrom got into a game this week! It wasn’t a great showing despite getting the win in a 4-2 victory. His SV% dropped to .908 in 16 games.
Samuel Ersson (G), Västerås IK (Allsvenskan)
2018 5th Round Pick, 143rd overall
A solid week for Ersson, though not his usual dominant self. His .930 SV% in 32 games is third in the Allsvenskan this season.
Ivan Fedotov (G), HC Toros (VHL)
2015 7th Round Pick, 188th overall
- 2/24 – 2 GA, 31 saves/
Fedotov improves his SV% to .929 in 26 games this season. Between this and his solid showing in the KHL earlier this season, it appears Fedotov is very much ready for his shot at a starting gig at the next level.
Kirill Ustimenko (G), MHK Dynamo St. Petersburg (MHL)
2017 3rd Round Pick, 80th overall
- 2/20 – 2 GA, 16 saves/
Ustimenko’s underwhelming season continues as his SV% slips to .925 in 45 games. He is ranked 25th among MHL goalies.

Wade Allison (RW), Western Michigan University

Not the greatest of showings for the talented power forward prospect.
Joel Farabee (LW), Boston University
2018 1st Round Pick, 14th overall
Farabee hasn’t gone more than a game without a point since a three-game pointless stretch from 11/17 – 11/24. His goal Saturday was his 10th this season and he has 26 points in 28 games in his freshman season.
Tanner Laczynski (C/W), Ohio State University
2016 6th Round Pick, 169th overall
A goal in his triumphant return! Almost like he might be good at hockey? Laczynski has 26 points (9 G, 17 A) in 23 games this season. Chuck, sign this kid plz.
Gavin Hain (C/W), University of North Dakota
2018 6th Round Pick, 174th overall
Hain squared off against Noah Cates and Minnesota Duluth this weekend. He notched his fifth goal of the season and his seventh point in 25 games this season.
Jay O’Brien (C), Providence College
2018 1st Round Pick, 19th overall
- 2/23 – 0 shots, 2 PIM, 0 for 4 FOW/
The goings don’t seem to be progressing as much as we probably would have hoped for the former first round pick. O’Brien has just one point (an assist) in his last 10 games and has five points (2 G, 3 A) in 22 games.
Brendan Warren (LW), University of Michigan
2015 3rd Round Pick, 81st overall
He played two games, got no points and recorded zero shots. He got a five-minute kneeing major though!
Noah Cates (LW), University of Minnesota-Duluth
2017 5th Round Pick, 137th overall
While it may not be an eye-opening collegiate debut like Joel Farabee, but Noah Cates has done well for himself in his freshman season. He’s put up 17 points (6 G, 11 A) in 28 games for Minn-Duluth.
Wyatt Kalynuk (D), University of Wisconsin
2017 7th Round Pick, 196th overall
Kalynuk scored his eighth goal and 21st point in 32 games as a sophomore.
Jack St. Ivany (D), Yale University
2018 4th Round Pick, 112th overall
The point-less streak continues for St. Ivany, who has seen it grows to six games and just one point in his last 13 games.
