Flyers release the full ‘18-19 preseason schedule

Folks, the Flyers have done you the favor of using this Friday afternoon to allow you to plan out your September.

The Flyers will kick off the preseason against John Tavares (probably) and his New York Islanders. From the team’s official release:

The Flyers will play an eight-game preseason slate again this year, doing so entirely against the New York Islanders, the New York Rangers and the Boston Bruins. The preseason will begin with four games in four days, the first three of which will be against the Islanders in three different venues – Sept. 16 at Nassau Coliseum, Sept. 17 at the Wells Fargo Center and Sept. 18 at Barclays Center.

After concluding that opening run with a visit to the New York Rangers on Sept. 19, the Flyers will host the Islanders on Sept. 21 at PPL Center in Allentown, the home of the Flyers’ AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. It marks the fourth consecutive preseason that the Flyers are making a visit to the Lehigh Valley.

The preseason is always a fun time, just good hockey with no pressure while we figure out which kids are good and which ones need to go back to their homes. If you’ve not been to Allentown yet for a Phantoms game, this presents a great reason to head up the turnpike and check out what they’ve built up there; it’s pretty great.
