Travis Konecny was his typical pesky self during Stadium Series

© Ed Mulholland-USA TODAY Sports

We all know what Travis Konecny brings to the Philadelphia Flyers every single night. In any normal game, you would find the winger getting under the skin of just about every opponent put in front of him. There isn’t a foe that won’t be at least a little perturbed with the fact that Konecny is pestering them.

And he didn’t change anything at all when the Flyers went outdoors against the New Jersey Devils during the 2024 Stadium Series last weekend.

In a little mic’d up moment from the NHL’s official Instagram, Konecny was irritating a Devils player so bad and it all began with a little chirp at the faceoff dot.

“How many breakaways do you give up in a game? Holy fuck,” Konecny said to Devils blueliner Brendan Smith. It was a perfect sentiment to just tick someone off ever so slightly. Criticizing and claiming that the one thing a defenseman shouldn’t do, this particular guy does so damn much, is just some expert level stuff. Konecny is a pestering savant.

As the clip continues, all you see is Smith trying to chase Konecny around the ice. Banging into each other at every opportunity and the best part of it is that the Flyers winger hardly ever paid much attention to Smith. The Devils defenseman appeared to get so flustered and try to bang and grab Konecny but his focus was solely on the play and hoping to catch Smith trying too hard to be physical and he would give up another breakaway.

If Konecny scored on a breakaway during that game and it was against Smith, we would now it would have felt so sweet. Unfortunately, the Devils get to claim that they were never bothered since they handed the Flyers a demoralizing 6-3 loss at the center of MetLife Stadium.

Despite any result, we know that Konecny will just continue to be the prime candidate to get more microphones hooked up under his jersey and for the team’s and league’s social media accounts to get more moments like this. God, we love him so much.
