I miss the good Flyers

The Philadelphia Flyers capped off a forgettable trip to Boston with a 6-1 shellacking on Saturday to create more questions than answers when it comes to deciding what to make of the Orange and Black in 2021. After Kevin Hayes leveled the score at one 1:14 into the second stanza, the Bruins rattled off the contest’s final five goals for Philly’s second game with six goals against only six tilts into the season.

Carter Hart allowed six goals on 26 shots against, but as has been the case all season it’s not all on him. The skaters in front of Hart certainly had their hand in a few goals last night, especially Erik Gustafsson. The team actually did well clogging up the neutral zone early last night before the game started to unravel, as well as limiting multi-chance cycles and extended zone time against, but they still left Hart helpless on several plays.

With nearly every element of the team struggling at the moment there was a lot to talk about in last night’s postgame including the defense, needing to add another blue liner, the penalty kill, Samuel Morin, and the weird forward lines.
