NHL trade rumors: Florida Panthers interested in trade for Flyers forward Michael Raffl

As of three days ago, the latest on Michael Raffl’s future with the Philadelphia Flyers was that the team was looking to re-sign him, and that he’d be sticking around beyond the trade deadline.

But even if the Flyers are trying to keep him, that doesn’t mean other teams are going to stop asking. The Florida Panthers are interested, according to Miami Herald writer Harvey Fialkov.

You can understand why a team like Florida would want Raffl. He’s an affordable depth piece to add to an operation that hopes to have a deep playoff run ahead of it, and the price to acquire him would likely not be all that high since he’s an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

You can also understand why the Flyers want to keep him, for much of those same reasons. Then again, the draft pick also sounds appetizing, even if it wouldn’t be a first rounder. Guess we’ll see what happens.
