Michael Raffl signed to three-year, $7.05 million extension

It was reported yesterday by TSN’s Travis Yost that the Flyers were close on an extension with forward Michael Raffl, but were still shopping him to other teams to check if any would meet a very high asking price.

This morning, general manager Ron Hextall and the Flyers made their decision.

As usual, Philadelphia did not release the specific terms of the contract, but ESPN’s Pierre LeBrun broke that news only minutes after the announcement.

We’ll have more on the extension later in the day, but suffice to say that this is a solid deal for a versatile, often-underrated player.
