Monday Morning Fly By: All quiet on the Broad St. front

*The first weekend of free agency was, in fact, a bit of a frenzy, but there wasn’t a lot of noise made by the Flyers. In fact, just one tiny little peep. In the form of a guy almost certainly headed to Allentown. [BSH]

*The Flyers lost someone too, as Tyler Pitlick hit the market and moved on from the team. A bit of a bummer; Pitlick was a nice little piece of that bottom six. [NBC Sports Philly]

*But despite a couple of holes to fill and a bit of cap space to work with, Chuck and co. are taking a patient route, looking for the right fit for the team rather than spending big on a big name. Fans seem upset that the Flyers missed out on guys like T.J. Brodie and Torey Krug, but the doors to improvement aren’t closed. [Inquirer]

*In that vein, let’s take a look at who is left in the free agent field. [ProHockeyTalk]

*You folks probably think the Flyers should’ve done something though, eh? [NBC Sports Philly]

*Anyhoo, here’s a full rundown of every single move that was made over the weekend, should you need to catch up. [TSN]

*A bunch of players filed for arbitration too, ahead of that deadline. No Flyers, though. [Sportsnet]

*One of the more interesting things about this year’s free agency period is that recent Cup winners seem ready to break up their core. Because the NHL doesn’t really allow good teams to stay together for all that long. [AP]

*Of the remaining free agents — couple of big names in there! — which teams would be the best fit? [ProHockeyTalk]

*Later last night Taylor Hall decided to sign in… Buffalo? That certainly is A Choice for a guy that can go wherever he wants. [TSN]

*And finally, Frank Seravalli’s most recent Trade Bait list featured a new entry from your Philadelphia Flyers: Travis Konecny. You know what? Let’s just not, okay? [BSH]
