Monday Morning Fly By: Candy hangover edition

*It’s Monday! Just wanted to make a note of that, so we can all establish what day it is, together. As the weekend began, we got some good news on the injury front for the Flyers, except for Nolan Patrick, for whom there appears to be no change. [Inquirer]

*Meltzer is rolling through the team one player at a time, profiling each, giving them the spotlight, allowing them to shine, etc. [Flyers]

*Somehow it has been an entire decade since the Flyers’ last Cup run, and as such there’s a lot of looking back. This time by Brian Boucher, who I personally really wish hadn’t gotten hurt that year. [NBC Sports Philly]

*Seems like it’s hard to overstate how important Kevin Hayes has been to this team this season. [NHL.com]

*So yeah, you hate the Pittsburgh Penguins. But do you hate all of the Pittsburgh Penguins? [BSH]

*Carter Hart found himself among some pretty impressive company over the weekend. [NBC Sports Philly]

*Brian Elliott is getting a little love from the Blues folks. Brian Elliott is good, folks! [St. Louis Game Time]

*Remember Mike Keenan? He didn’t need to come back, but Ed Snider tried real hard. [NBC Sports Philly]

*Speaking of coaches, it’s pretty wild that three former Flyers are among the best in the league now. [Courier-Post]

*And finally, Edmonton Oilers forward Colby Cave passed away over the weekend. He was only 25, and his passing was unexpected and sudden. When we’re allowed to hug again, make sure you hug your loved ones, pals. [ProHockeyTalk]
