Monday Morning Fly By: It’s the final countdown

*And so begins the penultimate week of Flyers hockey. We’ve five games left, starting with tonight’s bout with the Penguins. Should be a real party. Here’s what we learned from this weekend’s huge embarrassing failure. [BSH]

*The Flyers, for their part, have absolutely nothing to add as far as insights into this mess. So that’s cool. [NBC Sports Philly]

*Oh except taking the time to blame Phil Myers for the tire fire that is the penalty kill. [BSH]

*As we begin to look back on this season, as one does at the end, you’ll notice that the Flyers played like hot garbage at home almost all year! [Inquirer]

*If you’re the type that likes to find a little silver lining in your misery, the Flyers’ continually awful play night in and night out, all the way to the end, will make it very clear to Chuck that he needs to get some things done this summer. [Inquirer]

*Speaking of Good Things, the Phantoms! They’re good! [BSH]

*And Charlie, the paragon that he is, found five entire Good Things to take away from this year as we head into a nice long offseason. [The Athletic]

*Apropos of nothing, have you heard about Connor Bedard? [CBC]

*Listen, of course the Nerds are correct to dunk on Carter Hart when running through the best and worst of the season. That doesn’t mean we have to LIKE IT. [FiveThirtyEight]

*Over the weekend the Seattle Kraken made their final payment to the league and are now, officially official, the league’s 32nd team. [ProHockeyTalk]

*And finally, in case you missed it, we brought you a brand new Flyperbole Friday afternoon! Enjoy! [BSH]
