Monday Morning Fly By: Let the games begin! The real ones, that is.

*The Flyers closed out their preseason with a whimper, not a bang, in an overtime loss to the Boston Bruins. [Inquirer]

*Well actually Radko Gudas had a bit of a bang. Might’ve been a little too big, as he’s facing a hearing for his hit on Austin Czarnik. [BSH]

*Given Gudas’ reputation, this might be a long one. [TSN]

*Sean Couturier also mixed it up a little, dropping the gloves with David Backes. [Sons of Penn]

*Between now and Friday we’ll find out if Travis Konecny and Ivan Provorov will stick with the big boys. Should be fun. [CSN Philly]

*Ron Hextall has a lot of choices to make this week. Things have gotten a little messy due to injury. We found out Friday Michael Del Zotto will be out at least a month. [BSH]

*So what might be Hexy’s best path forward to get his roster finalized before Friday’s opener? Send Shayne Gostisbehere to the Phantoms. NO REALLY. [BSH]

*Speaking of finalized rosters, Meltzer takes us back to how the very first Flyers roster was finalized. [Flyers]

*The Flyers seem to want Travis Sanheim to play on the right side. [Highland Park Hockey]

*The one place the Flyers do NOT have a question mark is in goal. Which is a nice change. [Inquirer]

*There are some questions though. Here are three of them. [BSH]

*The above three questions are part of SB Nation’s glorious full season NHL preview. Take a look, improve your Monday. [SB Nation]

*The Edmonton Oilers traded Nail Yakupov for peanuts this weekend because Peter Chiarelli continues to be bad at his job. [ProHockeyTalk]

*Hockey in Vegas is officially a thing. [Smog City Sports]

*Zac Rinaldo was waived this weekend; we still have that third round pick. Thanks, Chiarelli! [Stanley Cup of Chowder]

*The Flyers still have a very bad goal song, you guys. [Sons of Penn]

*And finally, get your guesses in for our pal Brent’s annual Guess The Season contest! [BSH]
