Monday Morning Fly By: Third place baby!

*It was a pretty nice little weekend of hockey, huh friends? Here’s what we learned from Saturday’s shootout win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. [BSH]

*And again last night against the Bruins the boys took the game in a shootout on the back of an OUTSTANDING performance from Carter Hart. Hot damn. Recap!

*Big news last week was the incredibly unfortunate report that Samuel Morin has torn his ACL, again. Really rough. [BSH]

*Saturday’s game saw the debut of Andy Andreoff, brought up from the Phantoms to try and salvage the 4th line. He did really well! [NBC Sports Philly]

*Perhaps the coolest part of the Flyers’ relative success so far this season is the fact that it has come on the back of outstanding performances by the team’s younger players. We’ve been aching for a youth movement and we might just be having one now. [Inquirer]

*Speaking of The Youths, the Phantoms continue to play quite well up there in Allentown. Here’s how they’ve done this week. [BSH]

*Nick Foligno laid an incredibly nasty hit on our old pal Pierre-Edouard Bellemare Saturday night and as a result, he’ll have a hearing today. A well-deserved hearing. [TSN]

*We talk a lot about how boring and devoid of personality NHL stars are, with a few exceptions. It’s possible that we have Sidney Crosby to thank for this reality. [Sportsnet]

*And finally, after a big weekend of hockey the Flyers have an even bigger week ahead. The most important of the season thus far, if you ask us. [BSH]
