Welcome to BSH’s weekly prospect update, where we will be serving up stats and insight on what our homegrown players have been up to. This will include prospects in Canadian Juniors (BCHL, OHL, QMJHL & WHL), Europe (SHL, KHL), and NCAA college hockey. Prospects playing in the AHL
Tanner Laczynski C), Lehigh Valley Phantoms (AHL)
2016 6th Round Pick, 169th overall
A pretty quiet weekend for Laczynski, wouldn’t you say? Just not a whole lot going on here at all. That’s a real shame.
Okay jokes aside, what a week for Laczynski. He’s finding a whole lot of chemistry with line mates Wade Allison and Max Willman, and that group is reaping the benefits. Laczynski’s offense has all but exploded, and he’s playing some really stellar hockey right now.
Mason Millman (LHD), Lehigh Valley Phantoms (AHL)
2019 4th Round Pick, 103rd overall
It was, though, a pretty quiet week for Millman. His offensive game didn’t jump out, so we’re not seeing much on the scoresheet, but he had a pair of quietly really solid games, as he continues to get acclimated to the AHL level.
David Kase (LW), Lehigh Valley Phantoms (AHL)
2015 5th Round Pick, 128th overall
We don’t see too much happening on Kase’s stat line from last week, but we can still come away feeling good about his play. He brought much more of his usual energy this week, and was solid in transition, so his impacts there were solid.
Egor Zamula (LHD), Lehigh Valley Phantoms (AHL)
Undrafted
Zamula had a fine game on Wednesday, but he also blocked a shot in that game which put him out for the rest of the weekend. We’re told it’s a day-to-day situation, so hopefully we’ll see him back in action this week.
Linus Hogberg (LHD), Lehigh Valley Phantoms
2016 5th Round Pick, 139th overall
Another relatively quiet weekend for Hogberg, but the good news is that he picked up an assist on Chris Bigras’s early goal, for his fourth of the season.
Wyatte Wylie (RHD), Lehigh Valley Phantoms
2018 5th Round Pick, 127th overall
Wylie is still out with injury.
Zayde Wisdom (C), Lehigh Valley Phantoms
2020 4th Round Pick, 94th overall
Wisdom got himself back on the scoresheet with a nice goal on Wednesday, but the story of the rest of the week was the away from the puck action—he got himself ejected from Friday’s game after instigating a fight, and then ended up taking another penalty on Saturday. Opposing players are starting to take some liberties with him, but he’s still learning to let that get under his skin less.
Maksim Sushko (RW), Lehigh Valley Phantoms

Matthew Strome (LW), Lehigh Valley Phantoms
2017 4th Round Pick, 106th overall
Pascal Laberge (C), Lehigh Valley Phantoms

Felix Sandstrom (G), Lehigh Valley Phantoms
2015 3rd Round Pick, 70th overall
It was all Alex Lyon time this week!
Isaac Ratcliffe (LW), Lehigh Valley Phantoms
2017 2nd Round Pick, 35th overall
Relatively quiet on the stat line front for Ratcliffe, but he was still putting in some good work to generate at least a few good chances for himself in each game. No real complaints here.
Tyson Foerster (LW), Lehigh Valley Phantoms
2020 1st Round Pick, 23rd overall
No more goals for Foerster this week, but he did still pick up a pair of assists. He’s still working on making sure he takes care of all of his details at this level, but he’s putting in some good work, all the same.
Wade Allison (RW), Lehigh Valley Phantoms
2016 2nd Round Pick, 52nd overall
As we noted above, Allison’s line with Laczynski and Willman is really cooking right now. Allison picked up a goal on the week, but very easily could have had three or so, as he hit a couple of posts. He’s still adjusting to the pro level, but he’s really impressing so far.
Prospects playing in Canadian junior
Elliot Desnoyers (LW), Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL)
2020 5th Round Pick, 135th overall
It was sort of feast or famine for Desnoyers this week—he was pointless in the first game, responded with a hat trick in the next, but then was pointless again in the third game of the week. A bit of a weird week, but hockey’s weird sometimes.
Connor McClennon (RW), Winnipeg Ice (WHL)
2020 6th Round Pick, 178th overall
There wasn’t one massive offensive output game, but McClennon’s proving really consistent in producing offense, whether it’s setting up goals or individual chances, even if he isn’t putting the puck in the back of the net himself. A lot of good stuff here.
Prospects playing in Europe
Samuel Ersson (G), Brynas IF (SHL)
2018 5th Round Pick, 143rd overall
No games for Brynas last week. They’re scheduled to play next tomorrow.
Olle Lycksell (C), Färjestad IF (SHL)
2017 6th Round Pick, 168th overall
Färjestad was back in action this week, and it was a relatively quiet pair of games for Lycksell, as he came out with just the one point and one chance.
Matej Tomek (G), KalPa (Liiga)
2015 3rd Round Pick, 90th overall
- 3/26 – 1 GA, 23 saves, .958 save percentage/
Just one game for Tomek this week, but it was a good one! He allowed only one goal to help lift KalPa to a 4-1 win over JYP.
Emil Andrae (LHD), HV71 (SHL)
2020 2nd Round Pick, 54th overall
Andrae is back up in the SHL, and he had himself a pretty solid first few games back. He was held off the scoresheet, but the lack of production there shouldn’t be a concern—HV71 was shut out in two of those three games. Andrae’s certainly getting a real chance to make an impact, as he played upwards of 20 minutes in his last two games.
Marcus Westfalt (C), Vasterviks IK (HockeyAllsvenskan)
2018 7th Round Pick, 205th overall
Not a whole lot going on for Westfalt this week. He came out of this group of games with an assist and a couple of chances, but it wasn’t a massive offensive showing for him.
Prospects playing in NCAA
Cam York (LHD), University of Michigan (Big Ten)
2019 1st Round Pick, 14th overall
Due to a positive COVID test among Michigan’s tier-1 group, they had to be removed from the NCAA Tournament (on the day of what was supposed to be their first game). Cam York and friends’ season is over.
Bryce Brodzinski (RW), University of Minnesota (Big Ten)
2019 7th Round Pick, 196th overall
One of the favorites coming into the tournament, Minnesota picked up a win over Omaha in the opening round, and then was decisively beaten by Minnesota State on Sunday and eliminated from the tournament. It was a fine enough pair of games for Brodzinski, who came out of it with a few chances and one assist.
Jack St. Ivany (RHD), Boston College (Hockey East)
2018 4th Round Pick, 112th overall
- 3/28– 0 SOG/
After Notre Dame also had to back out of the tournament due to COVID protocols, BC received a no contest and moved on to the quarterfinal against St. Cloud State. It was a fine but relatively quiet game for St. Ivany, as BC really struggled to get much of anything going in that loss to a tight checking SCSU team. They were eliminated, so St. Ivany’s season is over.
Jay O’Brien (C), Boston University (Hockey East)
2018 1st Round Pick, 19th overall
- 3/27 – 2 SOG/
SCSU took down another Flyers prospect’s team this weekend too! The first round saw them match up with Jay O’Brien and BU, and giving them just as much trouble. O’Brien created a couple of nice chances for himself, but was ultimately held off the scoresheet as BU’s season came to an end.
Gavin Hain (C), University of North Dakota (NCHC)
2018 6th Round Pick, 174th overall
After a pretty clutch showing in the Frozen Faceoff, things quieted down for Hain in this pair of games. He had a few good chances for himself, but wasn’t able to cash in on any of them. North Dakota was eliminated in the quarterfinal by Minnesota-Duluth, so his season is over.
Noah Cates (LW), University of Minnesota-Duluth (NCHC)
2017 5th Round Pick, 137th overall
- 3/27 – 2 SOG/
UMD was supposed to play Michigan in the first round, but received a no contest when they were removed. They got their money’s worth though, if you will, as their quarterfinal game against North Dakota went to five (5) overtimes. Cates had two shots in UMD’s eventual 3-2 win.
