It was just the one game for Desnoyers this week, and big shocker, it was a good one. A cool three points in Halifax’s 5-2 win over Charlottetown. Not too bad.
Connor McClennon (RW), Winnipeg Ice (WHL)
2020 6th Round Pick, 178th overall
It was a busy week for McClennon, and another solid one, at that. His offensive production hasn’t cooled off, as he picked up seven points in his last four games and continues to post a solid process and generate a ton of chances, to boot.
Prospects playing in Europe
Samuel Ersson (G), Brynas IF (SHL)
2018 5th Round Pick, 143rd overall
Overall, not too bad of a week for Ersson, here. His game yesterday was certainly less stellar, but he was positively lights out in his first two games in this series against HV71, helping carry Brynas to a 2-1 edge in that series.
Olle Lycksell (C), Färjestad IF (SHL)
2017 6th Round Pick, 168th overall
It was a quiet start to the week for Lycksell, as Färjestad closed out their series against Malmö, but picking things up again as they started their series against Växjö, picking up three points and eight shots on goal in those two games.
Matej Tomek (G), KalPa (Liiga)
2015 3rd Round Pick, 90th overall
Just one game for Tomek this week (he backed up in the second of the week), and that game was, well, it was pretty rough. He let in four goals in KalPa’s 5-3 loss to KooKoo.
Emil Andrae (LHD), HV71 (SHL)
2020 2nd Round Pick, 54th overall
Andrae’s offense cooled off a bit this week, but that’s not really something to get too fussed about, as we could really say the same of the whole of his HV71 team. He missed their third game of the week, but his first two were solid, and he’s continuing to adjust well to the SHL level.
Prospects playing in NCAA
Noah Cates (LW), University of Minnesota-Duluth (NCHC)
2017 5th Round Pick, 137th overall
- 4/8 – 1 assist, 2 SOG/
Cates’s season came to a close last week, when UMD was eliminated in the Frozen Four by UMass. Cates picked up a primary assist on Cole Koepke’s goal, as well as a couple of chances for himself, so all in all not a bad showing for him. Now we’re here to wait around and see if Cates will be signing with the Flyers or heading back to school for his senior year. Stay tuned!
